CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography, Goa is a premier institute functioning under the aegis of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), an autonomous body functioning under the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Applications are invited for walk-in-interviews, to be held at CSIR – NIO, Goa for the selection of Technician (Diploma)/Graduate (Degree) holders for engagement as Apprentice Trainees under the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act, 1961. The details of the positions are given below.

Reservation Vacancies :

Guidelines under Apprentices Act on Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD will be followed. Those who are claiming reservation under SC/ST/OBC/PWD shall provide certificate as per Government Standard format, failing which they will be considered as ‘General’ category only. BC candidates claiming OBC (Non creamy layer) category should submit OBC (NCL) certificate as per the approved (OBC- NCL) format from the certificate issuing authority.

CSIR NIO Recruitment other Eligibility Requirements 2025

1. Graduate/Technician candidates who have passed the qualifying exam in 2020/2021/2022/2023/2024/2025 are only eligible.
2. Candidates who have registered themselves in the Apprenticeship Portal for Apprenticeship and who fulfil the eligibility criteria as indicated above will be considered for appearing in the walk-in-interview.
3. Candidates should not have undergone or presently undergoing Apprenticeship Training in CSIR or elsewhere.
4. Candidates should not have experience of one year or more in any job.
5. Sandwich diplomas, private diploma, part time/Distance/short term/certificate courses etc., are not acceptable.

General Condition :

1. Date & Time of Walk-in-Interview: (Reporting Time: 09.30 AM). No candidate will be allowed to enter into the venue after 10:00 AM.
2. Candidates have to submit their duly filled-in application given at the end of this advertisement and also available in our website (www.nio.res.in) along with original for verification and self-attested copies of certificates, mark sheets, proof of date of birth (copy of SSLC/HSC), Aadhar Card, a passport size photograph at the time of interview.
3. Candidates should have their valid Aadhaar Number.
4. The original documents including educational qualification, Birth/SSLC certificate, community and other certificates in respect of selected candidate will be verified at the time of walk-in- interview. Your joining at CSIR-NIO as apprenticeship trainee is subject to verification of certificates.
5. If number of candidates are more, the Selection Committee shall adopt its own criteria and shortlist the candidates for walk-in- interview in proportionate to the available vacancies.
6. Accommodation will not be provided. Selected candidates will have to make their own arrangements for stay.
7. Successful apprenticeship trainees will be awarded National Apprenticeship Certificate by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT)/ BOAT.

Candidates are advised to register as Graduate (Degree)/ Technician (Diploma) Apprentices online in the
following portal under the respective state as per their trades in
 Graduate (Degree)/ Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: https://nats.education.gov.in/

For students who have not so far enrolled in the National Web Portal {Technician (Diploma)/ Graduate (Degree) Apprentices)}

a. Go to: https://nats.education.gov.in/
b. Click on Student – Student Register
c. Complete the application form
d. A Unique Student Enrolment ID for each student will be generated
after successful registration which is mandatory before applying for the
positions and need to be mentioned in the application form.

Interested and eligible candidates may appear in the walk-in-interview with all original and one set of
photocopy of all relevant testimonials with self-attestation as indicated below along with the application.

• All Certificates/Testimonials in respect of Qualifications, DoB, etc.
• Caste Certificate [for SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/EWS candidates as applicable] in the prescribed format issued by the Competent Authority as prescribed by Government of India.
• Candidates should ensure that they submit all the documents mentioned above. In the event of failure to submit any of the required documents as mentioned above at the time of walk-in-interview, their candidature will not be considered.
