Note: i) Minimum 50% marks in X std is not applicable for SC/ST/PwBD Candidates.
ii) Course Completed Act Apprentices, Engineering Graduate or Diploma Holder or Vocational Certificate holder who had training or job experience for a period one year or more, after the attainment of these qualifications are NOT eligible for being engaged as trade apprentice under the Act Apprentice Rules 1992.

Eligibility :

ONLINE applications are invited from eligible candidates for engagement as
Apprentices for imparting training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in the designated trades at various Divisions/Workshops/Units in the jurisdiction of Southern Railway. Candidates residing in
the following locations/areas falling within the Geographical Jurisdiction of Southern Railway
alone are eligible to apply.

1. Whole State of Tamil Nadu
2. Whole Union Territory of Puducherry
3. Whole State of Kerala
4. Whole Union Territories of Andaman
   & Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands
5. ONLY the two districts of Andhra Pradesh, namely, SPSR Nellore and Chittoor.
6. ONLY one district of Karnataka, namely, Dakshina Kannada.

Southern Railway Apprentice Recruitment Stipend 2025

(i) During the second year of apprenticeship training, there shall be an increase of 10 per cent in the prescribed minimum stipend amount and further 15 per cent increase in the prescribed minimum stipend amount during the third year of apprenticeship training.
(ii) In the case of National or State Certificate holder, the period of training already undergone by him or her in a school or other institution recognized
by the National council or state council, shall be taken into account for the purpose of determining the minimum payable rate of stipend.

Southern Railway Apprentice Recruitment Important Instruction 2025

1. The decision of the Railway administration in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the applications and mode of selection shall be final.
2. There is NO GUARANTEE FOR EMPLOYMENT and their contract of apprenticeship will be terminated on completion training on completion of training. ‘However, 20o/o of the vacancies in case of Direct recruitment through RRC’S may be filled giving preference to course completed oct apprentices trained in railway establishments and possessing National Apprenticeship Cerfficate (NAC).
3. If any declaration furnished by the candidate’s found to be false, he/she will be disqualified / terminated at any stage of the training period without any notice.
4. Candidate’s selected for the training program will be responsible for arranging their own accommodation and other facilities
5. Academic/Technical qualifications acquired through ‘recognized Boards/institutes will only be considered.
6. Candidates applying for Ex.lTI category should possess ITI qualification in the relevant
   trade at the time of applying itself.
7. The selected candidates should abide by the rules and regulations framed by the Administration from time to time.
   B. Candidates who are willfully absent or whose surety is represented on his behalf during the engagement/apprenticeship are required to refund the full cost of their training and any stipend received, as determined by the Central Apprenticeship Adviser.

Physical Fitness/Medical Examination: Candidates shall be eligible for the engagement as act apprentice, duly satisfying the minimum standards of physical fitness specified in Schedule-II of Apprenticeship Rules 1992 (as amended time to time) and Medical certificate in the prescribed format to be produced at the time of document verification.
